Art Engaging Gangs

This group exhibition showcases artists who have engaged with gangs in different ways. The art is the flip side of Norman Rockwell’s middle-class American paintings of Thanksgiving gatherings or kids receiving immunization shots from their doctor as protection from unseen danger. This is a different kind of danger: the danger of poverty, lack of work and opportunity. The work reflects and documents the violence and death that surround the lives of gang members and victims.
